Buskaid and The Big Give - a wonderful response from our supporters!
We are still calculating the amount of funding which is now available to Buskaid as a result of extremely generous donations to the Big Give from numbers of our supporters. We shall post the full amount on our website shortly.
In the meantime we should like to thank all of those people who so generously responded to our appeal, as well as the Reed Foundation for its support in the form of matching funding.
Proceeds from a landmark publication to benefit The Buskaid Trust !
South African Economic Policy Under Democracy (OUP March 2009), edited by Janine Aron, Brian Kahn and Geeta Kingdon, provides an up-to-date assessment of South Africa’s economic policies and performance under democracy. The authors are a set of eminent international and South African specialists in their fields, and the book is edited by two UK based academics and a senior SA policy maker from the South African Reserve Bank. The editorial royalties from the sale of this book will be donated to the Buskaid Trust. Dr. Janine Aron has stated in the preface that this book “…recognises the importance of beneficial social networks, and the commitment of state funding to long-term educational and social projects for the disadvantaged.”
